408                                          Sacraments of Initiation
                               command. May the Church, You have commissioned to build the
                               Kingdom of God on earth, be blessed to fulfill Your will through
                               us.  May  Your  salvific  day,  on  which  the  whole  humankind  is
                               united  and  assembled  under  one  shepherd  and  one  sheepfold,
                               come soon. Let this sacrament we administer be, by the power of
                               the Holy Spirit, the door to eternal life for the child. Lord of all,
                               forever.

                               ALL:  Amen.

                               SER: Bless us, O Lord. Brothers and sisters, bow your heads for
                               the imposition of hands and receive the blessing.

                               CEL:  Lord God, extend Your merciful right hand over the uni-
                               versal and apostolic Church. Protect it from every danger, visible
                               and invisible. In Your compassion make us worthy to minister in
                               Your presence with devotion, diligence, and purity.

                                    Merciful God, bless us. Grant that all of us, as one body, may
                               properly  please  You  throughout  our  lives,  by  works  of  justice
                               that reconcile us with You. Make us worthy to offer You never-
                               ending praise, homage, thanksgiving, and adoration. The Father,
                               the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Lord of all, forever.

                               ALL:  Amen.

                                                     Profession of Faith

                               CEL:  We believe in One God, the Father Almighty,

                               ALL:  Creator of all things visible and invisible, and in one Lord
                               Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the first born of all
                               creatures, born of the Father before all ages, and not made, true
                               God from true God, consubstantial with his Father. Through Him
                               the worlds were formed, and all things were created.
                                    For the sake of us men and for our salvation/ He came down
                               from heaven; and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit / and be-
                               came man, and was conceived and born of the Virgin Mary.
                                    He suffered and was crucified/ in the days of Pontius Pilate /
                               died  and  was  buried;  and  on  the  third  day  rose  again  /  as  it  is
                               written.

                                    He ascended into heaven / and sits at the right hand of his Fa-
