ASSIGNMENTS

NEW YORK (2009 October 23 – )

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. James Ponganayil as the director of St. Stephen’s Knanaya Catholic Mission from October 23, 2009. Fr. James Ponganayil was the former director.

Under the leadership of Fr. Jose Tharackal, the mission bought a church building at 384 Clinton St., Hempstead, NY 11550 on January 27, 2012. Mar Jacob Angadiath, along Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, consecrated the church elevated the mission as a parish and appointed Fr. Jose Tharackal as the first pastor on November 24, 2012.

Mar Jacob Angadiath elevated the parish as a Forane Church on February 18, 2015. Bishop Mar Jacob Angadiath, along with Auxiliary Bishop Mar Joy Alappatt, inaugurated the forane on March 28, 2015.

CARTERET, NJ (2009 October 23 – 2015)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Tharackal as the director of Knanaya Catholic Mission, New Jersey from October 23, 2009. Fr. James Ponganayil was the former director.

Fr. Jose Tharackal served the mission until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Renny Kattel as the director in 2015.

PHILADELPHIA (2009 October 23 – 2011 July 20)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Tharackal as the director of Knanaya Catholic Mission in Philadelphia from October 23, 2009. Fr. Thomas Vattothuparambil was the former director.

He served the mission until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Mathew Manakatt as the mission director with effect from July 21, 2011.
