ASSIGNMENTS

ATLANTA  (2008 August 15 – 2010 June 30)

The Knanaya Catholic Association of Georgia (KCAG) took initiative to start Knanaya Catholic Mission in Atlanta, GA with the help of Vicar General and Region Director Fr. Abraham Mutholath. After presentation on the relevance of establishing the mission, the participants in the general body signed application to Mar Jacob Angadiath requesting to establish the mission.

Mar Jacob Angadiath established the Knanaya Catholic Mission in Atlanta, Georgia on August 15, 2008 with Fr. Stany Edathiparambil as the mission director. This mission, under the leadership of Fr. Stany bought a church of its own under the leadership of Fr. Stany. Mar Jacob Angadiath consecrated the church and elevated this mission as a parish with the name, Holy Family Knanaya Catholic Parish, Atlanta on April 4, 2009 and appointed Rev. Fr. Stany Edathiparambil as its first pastor.

He continued his service until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Abey Vadakkekara as the pastor from July 1, 2010.

SAN JOSE, CA  (2010 July 1- 2013 May 5)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Stani Edathiparambil as the director of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Mission, San Jose from July 1, 2010. Msgr. Jacob Vellian was the former director.

Under the leadership of Fr. Stany Edathiparambil, the mission bought a church at 324 Gloria Ave, San Jose, CA 95127. Mar Jacob Angadiath, along with Mar Joseph Pandarasseril consecrated the church on March 24, and elevated the mission as a parish with Fr. Stany Edathiparambil as its first pastor on March 24, 2012.

Fr. Stany Edathiparambil served the parish until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath as pastor on May 6, 2013.

SACRAMENTO (2011 October 1 – 2013 May 5)

Encouraged by Vicar General Fr. Abraham Mutholath, the Knanaya Catholics living in Sacramento requested His Excellency Bishop Mar Jacob Angadiath to establish a Knanaya Catholic Mission in Sacramento. Mar Angadiath established this mission on October 1, 2011 with Fr. Stany Edathiparamibl as the first director.

Vicar General Fr. Abraham Mutholath officially inaugurated the mission on November 12, 2011. Fr. Stany was coming from San Jose to serve this mission. He continued the ministry until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath was the director of the mission from May 6, 2013.
