Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Thomas Mulavanal as the director of St. Pope Pius X Knanaya Catholic Mission, Los Angeles on August 25, 2005.
Under the leadership of Fr. Thomas Mulavanal, the mission bought a church building on July 29, 2010. Mar Jacob Angadiath, along with Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt and Mar Joseph Pandarasseril consecrated the church on July 31, 2010 and elevated the mission as a parish with Fr. Thomas Mulavanal as the pastor.
Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Thomas Mulavanal as the Vicar General and director of the Knanaya Catholic Region on February 8, 2014. When he moved to Chicago, Fr. Siju Mudakkodil took charge as the pastor of the parish from October 18, 2014.
Vicar General and Knanaya Region Director Fr. Abraham Mutholath motivated the Knanaya Catholics in Las Vegas to apply for a Knanaya Mission in Las Vegas. Mar Angadiath established St. Stephen’s Knanaya Catholic mission on January 3, 2009 and appointed Rev. Fr. Thomas Mulavanal as its director in addition to his assignment in Los Angeles. Archbishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt inaugurated the mission on February 21, 2009.
When Fr. Thomas Mulavanal moved to Chicago, Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Siju Mudakkkodil as the mission director from October 18, 2014.
Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Thomas Malavanal as the syncellus (Vicar General) and Knanaya Region Director with effect from February 8, 2014.
Vicar General Fr. Thomas Mulavanal was appointed as the pastor of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish, Chicago on October 18, 2014. Fr. Abraham Mutholath was the former pastor. Under Fr. Mulavanal’s leadership many renovations were made like expansion of parking lot, perpetual adoration chapel, and purchase of own rectory for the parish.
