ASSIGNMENTS

TAMPA  (2011 May 11 – 2014 October 17)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the pastor of Sacred Heart Knanaya Catholic Mission in Tampa from May 11, 2011. Fr. Bins Chethalil was the former pastor.

Under the leadership of Fr. Pathrose Champakkara, the parish established a Knanaya Cemetery in the name of Sacred Heart Knanaya Gardens in February 2012. It has 150 cemetery plots in Hillsborough Memorial Cemetery in Brandon about five miles from the church.

Fr. Pathrose continued his service here until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Dominic Madathilkalathil as pastor from October 18, 2014.

SAN JOSE, CA  (2014 October 18 – 2016 June 27)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the pastor of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish, San Jose from October 18, 2014. Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath was the former pastor.

Mar Jacob Angadiath elevated St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish, San Jose as a forane on February 18, 2015 with Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the forane vicar. Vicar General Fr. Thomas Mulavanal inaugurated the forane on April 19, 2015.

When Fr. Pathrose Champakkara went to Canada for Knanaya ministry in June 2016, Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Mathew Meledath as pastor on June 28, 2016.

SACRAMENTO  (2014 October 18 – 2016 June 26)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the director of St. Pope John Paul II Knanaya Catholic Mission, Sacramento along with his responsibility as pastor of San Jose Knanaya Catholic Parish on October 18, 2014. Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath was the previous director.

Fr. Pathrose Champakkara served the mission until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Mathew Meledath as the director of the mission along with his responsibility as pastor of San Jose Knanaya Catholic Parish on June 28, 2016.
