ASSIGMENTS

CHICAGO (2010 August 3 – 2010 December 28)

Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath was associate pastor of both Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parishes in Chicago from August 3, 2010 to December 28, 2010 when Fr. Abraham Mutholath was vicar in both parishes.

HOUSTON (2010 December 28 – 2013 May 5)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath as the director of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Mission, Houston from December 28, 2010. Fr. James Cheruvil was the former director.

The mission bought a new church from a Baptist community on August 25, 2011. Mar Jacob Angadiath, along with Mar Mathew Moolakkatt and Mar Joseph Pandarasseril consecrated the church on November 5, 2011 and elevated the mission as a parish with Fr. Joseph Illikunnumpurath as the vicar. He served the parish until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Mathew Meledath as the pastor from May 6, 2013.

SAN ANTONIO (2010 December 28 – 2011 May 13)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath as the pastor of St. Antony’s Parish, San Antonio from December 28, 2010. He was serving the parish by coming once a month from Houston. Fr. James Cheruvil was the former pastor.

Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath served the parish until Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Dominic Madathilkalathil as fulltime pastor from May 14, 2011.

SAN JOSE, CA (2013 May 6 – 2014 October 17)

Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath as the pastor of St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish, San Jose from May 6, 2013. Fr. Stani Edathiparambil was the former pastor.

Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath left priestly ministry in 2014. Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the pastor on October 18, 2014.

SACRAMENTO (2013 May 6 – 2014 October 18)

Along with his responsibility as the pastor of Knanaya Catholic Parish, San Jose, Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath was also appointed as the director of Blessed John Paul II Knanaya Catholic Mission, Sacramento. Fr. Stany Edathiparambil was the former director.

Fr. Jose Illikunnumpurath left priestly ministry in 2014. Mar Jacob Angadiath appointed Fr. Pathrose Champakkara as the director of the mission along with his responsibility as pastor of San Jose Knanaya Catholic Parish on October 18, 2014.
